Anika Somaia
I'm a junior at Columbia studying Computer Science and Math, and a Neo Scholar (2025 cohort).
I'm currently spending my summer at DeepMind. Previously, I worked on AI observability products at LangChain, and generative video models at Pika.
I spend a lot of time thinking and learning about the exponential trajectory of frontier intelligence. Some thoughts on this I keep returning to: on hard takeoff, life after work, the already written future of AI, and the psychological effects of acceleration in the next decade.
I enjoy pretty much anything outdoors, especially snowboarding and kitesurfing.
